Why Pastoral Rabbinics?
After many years as a lawyer and transformative mediator, I was ordained on January 9, 2022, as a Rabbinic Pastor through the Aleph Ordination Program. A Rabbinic Pastor is educated and trained to do the wide variety of things that all Rabbis do. But a Rabbinic Pastor places more emphasis throughout the course of his studies on the pastoral aspects of the Rabbinate like chaplaincy and pastoral counseling.
As a Rabbinic Pastor I hold that every interaction including teaching classes, facilitating workshops, officiating at ritual observances and services, and of course, pastoral counseling, is an opportunity for pastoral care. So I refer to what I do as pastoral rabbinics. I bring a spiritual component and my mediation background to all aspects of my work.
I provide transformative programs and services with intention, compassion, and inspiration that relate to, and deal with, the full range of human needs, events, and relationships.
My services include teaching classes, storytelling, leading Torah study, creating and leading rituals, and premarital, marital, and pastoral counseling and mediation, all with spiritual and practical real-world components.
